Krutkina Named Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Player of the Week

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University’s Alena Krutkina has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Women’s Tennis Player of the Week during week number seven of the 2012 season. Krutkina, who hails from Omsk, Russia, put together a perfect week against Belmont Abbey and USC-Aiken winning all of her doubles and singles matches.

Starting with Belmont Abbey, Krutkina paired up with Taylor Lindsay for an 8-1 win at the No. 1 doubles while winning in straight-sets during singles 6-1, 7-5. Over USC-Aiken, Krutkina/Lindsay won 8-4 in doubles before taking a three-set decision 6-3, 3-6, 10-1 at singles securing both points for the Lady Falcons.

This week, Krutkina and the Lady Falcons host North Greenville on Monday, Erskine on Tuesday, before hitting the road to Coker and Converse later in the week.
