Shepherd's Career-Tying Day Lands Him Player of the Week Honors for Men's Lacrosse

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Pfeiffer University’s James Shepherd has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Week during week number seven of the 2012 season. Shepherd put home a team-high nine goals in a 2-0 league week for the Falcons including tying a career-high with seven against Lees-McRae.
Starting with Belmont Abbey, Shepherd found the back of the net twice in a 10-4 home win for the Falcons. On Saturday against Lees-McRae, Shepherd tied his personal best with seven goals and a caused turnover in a rout over the Bobcats. For the year, Shepherd leads the team with 40 goals, 11 more than his second place follower, as 15 of those 40 goals have come inside league play. The St. John, New Brunswick native leads the country in goals with 40 while being #7 with a 3.08 goals per game tally.
Shepherd and the Falcons will have their hands full on Saturday taking on the nation's top team in Mercyhurst in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania during their only game of the week.
