Despite Four from Hebberd, Women's Lacrosse Falls 20-12 to #4 Limestone

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Despite a team-high four goals from Rachel Hebberd (Golden, CO), Pfeiffer University fell 20-12 to #4 Limestone College in Conference Carolinas women's lacrosse action on Thursday afternoon. The victory pushes the Saints to 12-1 overall, 4-0 in league play while the Lady Falcons fall to 7-6, 3-1.
Limestone quickly jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first nine minutes of play before Shannon Bonnel (Mechanicsville, MD) and Liz Melesh (Annapolis, MD) scored back-to-back slicing the lead to one. The Saints would tally six of the next seven as Kristi Korn (Rochester, NY) snuck one of her three on the day in before she scored the second and third of three-straight at the end of the half with Bonnel as Pfeiffer trailed 9-6 at the break.
Limestone again bolted out of the gates in the second half grabbing a 17-8 lead with a pair of Hebberd goals stopping stretches of what could have been 10-0 Saints run. Katherine Athens (Huntingtown, MD) and Hebberd would round out Lady Falcon scoring on the day with two-straight goals apiece over the final 12:25.
Sarah Oor (Uxbridge, CANADA) led all scorers with a half-dozen goals while Racquel Prager (Seaford, NY) followed with five. Brigid Milchling (Cockysville, MD) made 12 saves in net stopping six in each half.
Pfeiffer will now look towards its final home game of the 2012 regular season facing Erskine in a league matchup at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Live stats will be available at http://www.gofalconsports.com.
