Peareth and Haizlip Lead Women's Golf to Third Place after Day One of Conference Tournament

VASS, N.C. - After day one of the 2012 Conference Carolinas women's golf tournament, the Lady Falcons of Pfeiffer University find themselves in third place overall, 23 shots behind leader Queens and nine back of Mount Olive. Steph Peareth paced the Lady Falcons with a first round 78 traversing the soggy Maples Golf Club after soaking rains through Sunday.

Steph Peareth recovered after a front nine 41 to improve four shots carding a back nine 37 to conclude Monday at 78. Danielle Haizlip turned in the team's second-best round at 84 while Chelsea Demers finished one back of Haizlip at 85.

Lauren Lyle would round out team scores with an 88 while Amanda Wemple wrapped up at 91. The women will play their final round on Tuesday as the three-round tournament has been reduced to two after weekend showers.
