Louth Leads Men's Golf to Third Place Finish at Season-Opening Anderson Invitational

ANDERSON, S.C. - Led by a top-five finish from Tyson Louth, the Pfeiffer University men's golf team started 2012-2013 off with a third place finish at the Anderson Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. Louth fired a two-day total of 144 around the 6,510-yard, par 71 circuit. All 10 rounds for the Falcons were below 80 both days.
Louth fired a first round 74 and improved four shots on Tuesday to post a one-under 70. Thomas Sennett and David Weinberger each finished tied for 14th at 147 with rounds of 75/72 and 74/73 respectively.
Alejandro Valls improved six shots on day two carding a 72 after a first round 78. Ryan Franklin, playing in his first collegiate tournament, finished tied for 27th with a 77 and 79.
Flagler College pulled out the team win with a 561 led by medalist Howard Schindler and his rounds of 67 and 68.
The Falcons will now have just over a month off before participating in the Lincoln Memorial Invitational in mid-October.
