Quick Start by Limestone Dooms Women's Soccer in 2-0 League Loss

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – A pair of first half goals led visiting Limestone College to a 2-0 shutout over Pfeiffer University in Conference Carolinas women’s soccer action on Wednesday afternoon. The Saints improve to 3-2 overall, 2-0 in league play while the Lady Falcons fall to 2-3, 1-1.

Limestone struck early in the first half as Gabriella Reid (Birmingham, AL) chipped in her third of the year inside the right post for a 1-0 lead. Later in the 29th minute, Taylor Sanders (Charleston, SC) helped forced a turnover before scoring her third of the season on a 1-on-1 breakaway.

Pfeiffer had equalizing opportunities in the second half with shots by Aaliyah Jackson (Statesville, NC), Katie Collins (Concord, NC) and Becca Kirchner (Matthews, NC) without any luck in finding the back of the net. Each team fired eight shots on the day while Pfeiffer held a 5-2 advantage in corners. Limestone was whistled for five offside calls in the match.
