Women's Volleyball Suffers Late Set One Loss; Swept at King 3-0

BRISTOL, T.N. - Host King College rallied back late in set one before cruising to a 3-0 (26-24, 25-11, 25-22) sweep of Pfeiffer University in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball on Friday night. The Tornado improve to 8-5 overall, 3-0 in league play while the Lady Falcons slide to 2-9, 1-3.
Pfeiffer had a 23-20 and 24-22 lead in set one after kills from Kelly Lancellot and Amber Wooten before King used an attack error, two-straight aces and kill from Mariah Herington to win the sets final four points.
A combination of Pfeiffer errors and 16 Tornado kills hitting .542 led to a quick 25-11 victory for the hosts. Pfeiffer came back into set three tied 18-18 before errors after gave King just enough of an advantage to finish off the sweep.
Summer Kremer led all attackers with 16 kills hitting .364 in the win while Olivia Underwood assisted 31 times. For Pfeiffer, Lancellot had a team-high eight kills while Wooten followed closely with seven. Emily Wall posted a team-best 14 assists while Cate Glendenning popped up 13 digs.
Due to a scheduling conflict, Saturday's originally scheduled contest with North Greenville has been postponed to October 10th. Next up for the Lady Falcons will be a non-conference tilt at Catawba beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday night.
