Women's Volleyball Avoids Saturday Sweep, Fall 3-1 to Rival Queens

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Trailing 2-0 in the best of five match, host Pfeiffer University battled back to force Queens into a fourth set during a 3-1 (25-17, 26-24, 23-25, 25-21) loss in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball on Saturday. The Royals move to 10-6 overall, 5-1 in league play while the Lady Falcons drop to 2-12, 1-5.
Keri Kemp led the Royals with a match-high 16 kills on the day, twice as many as her next closest teammate with Anna Gibbs picking up eight. McKenzie Martin assisted 37 times while posting the double-double adding a team-high 20 kills. Brittney Barren followed closely with 19 digs as Queens put four in double-figures on defense.
Pfeiffer saw Kelly Lancellot, Brianna Jones and Amber Wooten each register 10 kills in the match. Emily Wall recorded 21 assists while Meghan Davis chipped in with 18. Libero Cate Glendenning had a match-high 24 digs as one of three Lady Falcons with double-figures.
The Lady Falcons will now take the week off before getting back into conference play next Friday and Saturday hosting Barton and Mount Olive.
