Women's Golf Holds On to 10th Place Finish at Patsy Rendleman Invitational; Haizlip Leads Way with Pair of Rounds in 70's

SALISBURY, N.C. - The Pfeiffer University women's golf team put up a pair of consistent rounds on Monday and Tuesday finishing 10th at the annual Patsy Rendleman Invitational hosted by Catawba College at the Country Club of Salisbury. Danielle Haizlip led the way for the Lady Falcons with a 78/79 to finish tied for 15th individually.

Behind Haizlip's two-day total of 157, Lauren Lyle would conclude tied for 21st posted rounds of 80 and 79 for a 159. Stefania Valgeirsdottir followed with 89/83 improving six shots in round two. Katie Nance and Georgi Hoeksema rounded out team scoring with a 178 and 187 respectively. As a team, Pfeiffer would shoot 332 and 334 for the tournament.

Newberry College won the individual team title with a two-day total of 598. The Wolves' Barbara Castro took home medalist honors carding a first round 69 to go along with her second round 73.

Pfeiffer will play one more round of the 2012-2013 fall season on Saturday battling Brevard in a head-to-head matchup in Greensboro.
