Tennis Teams Enjoy Fall Success; Men Keep Rolling after Sportsmanship Award Winning Spring

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer University men's tennis team, coming off of their 2012 Messick Sportsmanship Award, put together a successfull fall campaign prepping for the spring's regular season and Conference Carolinas play. The Falcons won the annual sportsmanship award for men's tennis last year (pictured) while Sebastian Wernecke and Ben Hunter excelled in the last tournament of the fall, the Methodist Invitational.
Wernecke and Hunter would fall in the Davis Cup style best two-of-three tournament in the 27-team men's bracket. The two-of-three format is based on one doubles match and both singles matches with the first team to two points winning the overall match.
Earlier in the fall, Stephen Miller and Hannah Watson of the Lady Falcons had singles success at the ITA regional tournament while Taylor Lindsay teamed up with Watson to win a doubles bracket.
The Lady Falcons will kick off the spring on February 8th at UNC-Pembroke before joining the men on February 9th at Shaw.
