Lees-McRae would have the lead for the majority of the first half getting up by five on a pair of occasions after Kerri Belcher (Roanoke, VA) free throws. A Lauren Lewis (Concord, NC) three-pointer at the 6:35 mark gave the Bobcats their largest lead of the half at eight, 24-16, before a 10-2 run capped off by five-straight Bridget Rothert (Germantown, MD) points saw Pfeiffer erase the deficit with 2:52 remaining tied 26-26. A late free throw by Layana De Souza (Rio de Janeiro, BRAZIL) gave Lees-McRae a 27-26 halftime lead.
Pfeiffer came flying out of the gates in the second half turning the one point deficit into an eight-point advantage just 4:55 in as Cox would score eight of those points putting the Lady Falcons up 41-33. A quick 5-0 run by the Bobcats thanks to Alyssa Munson (Summerfield, NC) helped bring the visitors back to within three with 11:52 to play before a Kellie Rhoney (Catawba, NC) and Cox three, with a Carter Williams (Harrisonburg, VA) layup in between sent Pfeiffer out to a 51-40 lead midway through the period.
The Lady Falcons would cruise the rest of the way getting out to a 19-point lead, their highest of the night, on a Kaela Bellefeuil (Kernersville, NC) three with 7:13 remaining as Pfeiffer would outscore Lees-McRae 46-33 in the second half. Pfeiffer shot 41% from the field out-rebounding the Bobcats 46-39 in the win.
