Edelman Sets New School Record in Hitting as Men's Volleyball Sweeps Belmont Abbey 3-0

BELMONT, N.C. - Pfeiffer University hit a season-high .386 to sweep past Belmont Abbey College 3-0 (27-25, 25-17, 25-19) in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action on Thursday night. The Falcons improve to 3-1 overall and 3-1 in league play while the Crusaders fall to 3-3, 1-3.
Eric Edelman led all attackers with 14 kills hitting a blistering .765 to set a new school-record in the win. Caleb Brophy followed with 12 kills while Micah Bortner, Joe Supko and Fabio Diniz each hit over .300 in the win, Supko hit .417. David Specian recorded 42 assists for a match-high while Edelman and libero Mark Hess each popped up six digs.
Nolan Albrecht led the Crusaders with 13 kills on the night hitting .310 while Derek Sullivan assisted 26 times. Albrecht would also lead the way defensively with eight digs.
Next up for Pfeiffer will be hosting the Lance Johnson Memorial Tournament on Friday and Saturday in the Merner Gym. The Falcons will play on day two with an exhibition contest against Alderson-Broaddus at 1:00 p.m. followed by Emmanuel at 5:00 p.m.
