MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Belmont Abbey senior Tyshawn Good (Jamaica, NY) poured in a career-high and school-record 44 points during a 103-94 victory over Pfeiffer University in Conference Carolinas men’s basketball on Monday night. The win sends the Crusaders to 15-6 overall, 8-5 in league play, while the Falcons, who set a season-high with 94 points, dips to 3-17, 1-12.

Pfeiffer would connect on a season-high 16 three-pointers starting with Josh Humphrey’s (Matthews, NC) first after a Jay Council (Camden, SC) kicked things off for the Crusaders. Another Humphrey three gave the Falcons a 16-10 lead with 14:12 to play in the half before climbing to 10 at 27-17 with yet another Humphrey three with 10:33 to go.

Good, along with Darryl Durham (Atlanta, GA), led a quick charge that saw the Crusader cut the lead to five with just over six minutes remaining until a Terrone Sheffey (Dallas, NC) three trimmed the Pfeiffer lead down to two with 5:55 before the break. After a Good layup knotted the contest at 37-37, the Falcons would close out the half on a 12-7 run to take a 49-44 lead into the intermission.

In the second half, Good would again get the lead back down to two with a three at the 17:14 mark before the Falcons again jumped out to a double-digit lead as a Matt Ellwood (Lees Summit, MO) three gave the hosts an 11-point, 63-52 advantage just two minutes later. From there, Belmont Abbey would explode out on a 28-4 run that saw an 11-point deficit turn into a 13-point advantage over an eight-minute stretch. Good and Council would each score 11 points in the 24-point swing for the Crusaders. Pfeiffer would only get as close as eight with 1:22 remaining in the contest.

Good dropped his career-best 44 on 15-of-22 shooting from the field at 68% with four triples and 10-of-13 converted from the charity stripe. Humphrey would post a team-high 27 points on 9-of-17 shooting at 53% while knocking down five threes. Each team would see four players record double-digit scoring nights.
