February 9, 2013
ASHEBORO, N.C. - Catawba College, ranked #6 in NCAA II, used four homers on Saturday afternoon to double up Pfeiffer University 8-4 in non-conference baseball action at McCrary Park. Chris Dula blasted a pair of homers as the Indians remain perfect on the year at 6-0. The Falcons remain winless on the year falling to 0-5.
Dula hit his first of the day in the top of the second before the Falcons responded with two in their half taking advantage of a pair of Catawba errors. Aarin Sharpe would pick up the lone RBI in the inning with a fielder's choice as Matt Wade tallied the first run on a balk. Dula blasted off again to straight-away center in the fourth before an Ethan Satterfield infield single to third gave Catawba a 3-2 lead. Catawba would add a two-run blast in the sixth by Danny Parisi while Jon Gray lifted a solo shot to left in the eighth for Pfeiffer.
Cole McGraw and Sharpe would each collect two hits in the loss for Pfeiffer while Satterfield went 3-for-4 for Catawba. Dula, Craig Brooks and Parisi would all have two-hit days as well for the Indians.
