Backed by 40 in the First Half, Limestone Sneaks Past Men's Basketball 70-56

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Charles Blue (Corpus Christi, TX) scored a game-high 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting as Limestone College scored a 70-56 victory over Pfeiffer University in Conference Carolinas men’s basketball action on Saturday afternoon. The Saints improve to 15-7 overall, 11-5 in league play, while the Falcons dip to 3-21, 1-16.
A Joe Ledbetter (Stone Mountain, GA) jumper would give the Falcons an early five-point advantage three minutes in on Saturday while Josh Humphrey (Matthews, NC) deposited a layup 55 seconds later to keep Pfeiffer on top 8-3. A pair of three-balls by Blue would help get the Saints back in the contest and find themselves up eight with 8:39 remaining in the half. After a Ledbetter basket cut it to six with 6:56 left, Limestone would race out on a 20-5 run to close out the period with a 40-19 halftime lead.
Limestone would keep their healthy lead throughout the remainder of the contest at Pfeiffer was able to trim the lead down to 18 on a layup by Jerod Wallace (Charlotte, NC) late in the second half. The Falcons would help minimize the damage closing Saturday out on an 11-2 run for the final 14-point deficit.
Behind Blue’s 23, Ryan Bogdan (Charleston, SC) would finish with 12 while Philip Moultrie (Southern Pines, NC) would pick up a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Ledbetter, along with Armin Omanovic (Wilkesboro, NC) and Kenny Tappin (Hyattsville, MD), would each contribute 10 points for the Falcons. Ledbetter also added 11 boards for his double-double. Pfeiffer did outscore Limestone 37-30 in the second half.
