Kirk Named to Lacrosse's Version of the "Heisman" Trophy Watch List for Tewaaraton Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Tewaaraton Foundation has announced the 2013 Tewaaraton Award men’s and women’s watch lists. The lists include the top players across all three divisions of NCAA lacrosse and highlight the early contenders for the 2013 Tewaaraton Award. Pfeiffer University's Hayden Kirk has been named to the list, lacrosse's version of the "Heisman" trophy for best player.
In his freshman year, Kirk led the nation in save percentage at .657 and finished fourth in the same category a year ago at .621. Kirk has also finished the year in the nation's top-10 in goals-against average conclude 2011 third overall at 6.19 and seventh at 6.51 in 2012. Kirk and Pfeiffer will travel to region-rival Catawba on Tuesday before hosting nationally top-ranked Mercyhurst on Saturday.
