April 11, 2013
DUE WEST, S.C. - In a battle of the league's top two teams, host Erskine College defeated Pfeiffer University 8-1 in Conference Carolinas women's tennis action on Wednesday afternoon. The win sends the Fleet to 14-5 overall, 9-0 in league play, while the Lady Falcons suffer their first loss of the spring dropping to 13-4, 9-1.
Erskine would sweep all three doubles points to get the early lead as Taylor Lindsay and Valeria Mendoza had the tightest match for Pfeiffer falling 8-6. In singles, the Lady Falcons' lone point came from Hannah Watson at #3 with a 6-1, 6-1 win just after the Fleet had officially clinched the match.
Pfeiffer gets back to action on Monday hosting Queens in the 2012-2013 regular season finale beginning at 3:00 p.m.
