MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer University men's tennis team picked up a 7-2 victory over visiting Queens on Monday while the women fell by the final score of 7-2 as both teams wrapped up Conference Carolinas and regular season play on Monday afternoon. The men stand at 11-6 overall, 6-4 in league play heading into this weekend's conference tournament while the Lady Falcons slide to 13-5, 9-2.
The Pfeiffer men took two of three doubles on Monday scoring an 8-6 win at #1 thanks to Loic Minery and Ben Hunter while Sebastian Wernecke and Ethan Lyon rolled 8-1 in the third position. The Lady Falcons nearly pulled out three points in doubles play as Queens won all three matches by the minimum two games at 9-7, 8-6 and 9-7. Briana Oliver at #5 and Kaleigh Featherstone at #6 would pick up the singles points for Pfeiffer both winning in straight-sets. Oliver rolled 6-1, 6-1 while Featherstone cruised 6-2, 6-3.
Both teams have advanced to this weekend's Conference Carolinas tournament hosted by Erskine in Sumter, South Carolina. Final seedings will be announced later this week.
