Season Ends for Falcons with 13-3 Loss to Limestone

Gaffney, S.C.- The 2013 season ended for the Lady Falcons this afternoon with a loss against the Saints in the first round of NCAA regionals. The Falcons end the season with a final record of 14-3 (5-2 CC).

Limestone’s Sylvia Queener began scoring for the Saints with a free position shot just over 2 minutes into the first half. The Saints would take a 3-0 lead with goals from Queener and Chelsea Hargett before Sarah Daly opened up scoring for the Falcons at the 8:15 mark in the half. Delany Miller also recorded her only assist of the day with Daly’s goal. Queener would score twice more before the half, making it 5-1 going into half-time.

In the second half, Limestone would add seven more goals before Carly Garrison scored on a free position shot at the 8:34 mark to make it 12-2. Garrison would add one more unassisted goal four and a half minutes later for the final score of 13-3.

Falcons goalie Cassidy Wilson played all 60 minutes and recorded six saves on the day. Courtney Luther picked up five ground balls, and Katherine Athens won three draw controls. Today's game marks the end of the collegiate lacrosse careers of Pfeiffer's three seniors, Shannon Bonnel, Laura Shea, and Carly Garrison.
