Women's Volleyball Blanked by Francis Marion

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Pfeiffer women’s volleyball team (6-15) was overpowered by Francis Marion (15-3) in three sets on Tuesday evening. The Patriots took control of the match early and cruised to victory by scores of 25-12, 25-7 and 25-14.

Kelly Lancellot led the Lady Falcons attack with five kills and a .222 hitting percentage as the team couldn’t keep pace with the high-powered Patriots. Francis Marion held a 31-15 advantage in kills and posted a .250 team hitting percentage. The hosts also held a 41-25 advantage in digs and committed only 13 hitting errors on the night.

Four players finished with at least five kills for Francis Marion.

Brianna Jones finished with four kills and Emily Wall handed out nine assists. Wall, Haley Denny and Lauren Carmen each posted four digs and Kelsey Blauser led the way with three total blocks.

The Lady Falcons don’t have much time to recover as they are right back in action on Wednesday evening as they host Lees-McRae in Conference Carolinas action. The match is scheduled to get underway at 7 p.m.
