Men's Soccer Dominates William Peace on Senior Day

MISENHEIMER, NC - On senior day, the Pfeiffer men's soccer (9-8-1) team dominated William Peace, winning by a final score of 7-0 and finishing the regular season above the .500 mark. Six different Falcons tallied a goal, with senior Simon Leslie scoring twice. Senior Aldo Ramirez handed out three assists in the one-sided affair.
Leslie scored the game-winner in his final home match, as Kyle Toler sent a cross that Leslie put into the back of the net in the eighth minute. Just under three minutes later, Toler scored his fourth goal of the season, with the assist going to Dammy Balogun. In the 41st minute, Jamie Sanclemente connected for his first score of the season off a cross from Ramirez. At the end of the first half, Pfeiffer held a 20-2 lead in shots and pressured the Pacers the entire way.
Senior Seth Dey scored his second of the season in the 54th minute, pushing Pfeiffer's lead to 4-0. Ramirez would set up Leslie for his second goal of the game in the 58th minute and Corey Davis struck in the 61st minute, also from Ramirez. Balgoun's goal in the 66th minute capped the scoring spree, with Leslie earning the assist.
Freshman Miles Maynard earned the win in his first career start, making one save.
For the match, Pfeiffer held a 40-4 advantage in shots and a 9-1 lead in corner kicks.
This was the final match of the regular season for the Falcons, who will find out their first round opponent of the Conference Carolinas Tournament this evening.
