Pfeiffer stayed with St. Augustine's for most of the game, and led the first seven minutes of the contest. The first half featured five ties before St. Augustine's used a 9-0 run to take a 38-29 lead. Pfeiffer fought back and trailed by one, 45-44, going into the break. Smith and Clark each scored 14 first half points.

Pfeiffer couldn't keep up with St. Augustine's hot shooting in the second half as the visitors poured in 61 points in the game's final 20 minutes. Smith did his best to keep Pfeiffer close, scoring 19 in the half. However, May topped the Smith's performance, dropping 30 on 9-of-11 shooting.
