Fayetteville, NC -- The Pfeiffer men’s tennis team triumphed over the Monarchs of Methodist College on Wednesday afternoon winning 8-1. Philip Lawson (Johannesburg, South Africa) and Johan deWit (Windhoek, Namibia) won 8-4 at number one doubles, as did Cody Simpson (Dobson, NC) and Frank Pouchet (Miami, FL) at number three. AJ Flores (Atlanta, GA) and Sid Kaushik (India) fought through to a 9-7 win at number two. Lawson won 6-3, 6-3 at number one and Kaushik won 6-2, 6-0 at number two. DeWit was victorious at number three 6-2, 6-1 while Flores nabbed another win 6-4, 6-3 at number four. Simpson lost 6-1 in the first set at number six before winning in a tiebreaker in the second set 7-6 (7-4). The Falcons are now 3-2 on the season.
