Women's Tennis Handles Livingstone With Ease

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Pfeiffer women’s tennis team improved to 3-0 on the season after dismantling visiting Livingstone (0-1) by a final score of 9-0 at Knapp Tennis Center.

Pfeiffer swept through the doubles competition as the team of Taylor Lindsay and Valeria Mendoza won in first doubles by a score of 8-0.  Olivia Nelms and Hannah Watson took care of the number two doubles slot by a score of 8-0.

Pfeiffer went 5-0 in singles play.  Lindsay defeated Shondra Redfern in the first singles position by scores of 6-4, 6-3. Mendoza and Briana Oliver easily dispatched their opponents by winning straight sets in the number two and number three spot.

With the match already sealed Melinda Athay won in the fourth singles position 6-3, 6-0 while Kaleigh Featherstone also won in straight sets 6-1, 6-0.

The Falcons will return to action Friday, February 14 as they host Meredith at 2:30 p.m.
