Men's Golf Has Strong First Day at Irish Creek Invitational

KANNAPOLIS N.C. – Following 18 holes of play at the 2014 Irish Creek Invitational on Monday, Pfeiffer finds itself in a tie for seventh place with their secondary team sitting in 17th place. Pfeiffer is still able to advance up the leaderboard heading into tomorrow’s final round.
Pfeiffer is one of two teams that are tied in the middle of the pack of the 18-team field. The Falcons are 16 shots back of first place after finishing play today with a 23-over par 307.
Barton is sitting in a first place tie with Limestone and Newberry. The three teams shot seven over par 291 as each team has an individual player in the top five on the leaderboard.
Limestone’s Will Woodard is tied on the individual leaderboard with UNC Charlotte’s Thomas Rowland. Both players shot a one under par 70.
Pfeiffer was paced by freshman Nathan Bull who shot a four over par 75. Bull is coming off of his best finish back in October as he finished tied for 17th place at one over par. Currently Bull is sitting tied for 21st on the individual leaderboard.
Freshman Zach Weaver is also contributing on the field as he shot a five over 76 and currently sits in a tie for 27th.
Pfeiffer’s remaining three golfers in the top-50 of the leaderboard are David Weinberger, C.J. Dreyfuss, and Dan Cowick who are all tied for 44th place at seven over par 78.
The 18-team field will return to Irish Creek Country Club tomorrow for the final round of action at the 2014 Irish Creek Invitational for a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
