Men's Tennis Takes Care of Brevard; Improve to 4-1 on the Season

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer men's tennis team extended their unbeaten home streak to three on Thursday afternoon, defeating Brevard 7-2 in non-conference play. The win improves the Falcons to 4-1 on the season and with the loss Brevard's season woes continue as they drop to 0-4. Pfeiffer grabbed four of their wins in singles play and completely swept the visiting team in doubles competition.
Singles competition was highlighted by wins from sophomore Loic Minery, junior Sebastian Wernecke, junior Stephen Miller, and senior Bret Williams. With their singles wins, Wernecke improves to 4-1 on the season, and Minery remains unbeaten at 5-0.
In doubles competition Brevard was no match for the home team. The duos of Minery and Wernecke and Williams and Miller picked up easy wins over their visiting counterparts by scores of 8-5 and 8-0 respectively. Also picking up a doubles win for the Falcons was the team consisting of junior Orlando Castillo and sophomore Jimmy Molina who snagged a close decision against their opponents, 9-8.
Pfeiffer returns to action on March 1st when they travel to South Carolina to take on USC-Aiken. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m.
