Falcon Swimmer Headed to NCAA Championships in Ohio

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - In a little less than a week, freshman swimmer Dima Turkin will be on his way to the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio for a chance to compete on the largest collegiate swimming stage in the nation, the 2014 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. The reigning Conference Carolinas Champion in the Men's 100-yard Backstroke, Turkin will compete in four events while participating in his first trip to the NCAA Championships.
Turkin's quest for his first NCAA title begins March 12th at 10:30 am with the prelims and finals of the Men's 50-yard Freestyle event taking place on the same day. Turkin has also qualified to compete in the Men's 100-yard Backstroke, the Men's 100-yard Butterfly, and the Men's 200-yard Backstroke. Currently ranked sixth in the country in the Men's 100-yard Backstroke, Turkin will be stiff competition for the field of competitors boasting a slew of team and season records.
Hosted by Edinboro University (PA), the 2014 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships are scheduled for March 12th - 15th.
