Box Score

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Francis Marion bats were too much for the Falcons as the Patriots downed Pfeiffer 23-4 on Wednesday at Joe Ferebee Field.  With the loss the Falcons fall to 26-19 on the season while the Patriots improve to 23-19.

Francis Marion put Pfeiffer in an early hole in the first as they scored one run off of two hits to take the 1-0 edge.

The Falcons responded however, when Anthony Allende roped a sharp line drive down the right field line bringing home Tyler Summers for the game tying run.

The Patriots reclaimed the lead for good in the third inning, scoring six runs on four hits and two Falcon errors.

Pfeiffer edged one run closer in the bottom of the fourth inning when Kyle Hackney singled through the right side, bringing home Brett Miller from second.

Tyler Lequire was summoned from the pen in the third inning as he gave up six runs, one earned, on four hits.  With the outing, Lequire suffers his second loss on the season, falling to 4-2.

Pfeiffer was led offensively by Allende who went 2-for-3 with two RBIs.  Allende also pitched two and one-third innings giving up only one run.

Summers continued to swing a hot bat as he went 3-for-5 on the evening with one run scored.
