Fall Conference Tourney Results

Sumter, SC---The Pfeiffer men’s tennis team competed at the Conference Carolinas Individual Tournament this past weekend. There were three draws in singles and doubles made up of the players from the Conference Carolinas schools. AJ Flores and Johan de Wit nearly pulled off the biggest upset of the tournament when they played the #1 seed in double but after a tight, well -played match the pair fell 9-7. The pair went 1-1 over the rest of the weekend. Frank Pouchet and Ryan Kerr won the back-draw of B Doubles. After losing to Anderson in the first round the two easily beat their next two opponents by the scores of 8-4 and 8-2. Cody Simpson made the quarter-finals of the C Singles Draw before falling to the #1 seed. Coach Potter commented, “We had a chance at a couple of upsets but couldn’t quite pull it off. I was pleased with how hard we played. Our fitness level is coming along. There are several things we will need to work on to get ready for the next two tournaments this fall. We definitely proved we could play with anybody in our conference.”
