Misenheimer, NC---Pfeiffer held Lees-McRae scoreless over the last 8:21 of the game as they pulled away for a 66-50 conference victory in women's basketball action Monday night. All 8 Falcons scored at least six points or more in the win. Pfeiffer improves to 6-7 overall and 3-3 in th conference. Lees-McRae falls to 4-9 and 3-4.

Each team had only 8 players dressed for the game. Devona Knight hit a three-pointer to give Pfeiffer the lead, 7-6, at the 15 minute mark.

The game stayed close and with 9 minutes left Domonique China hit a "3" to put the Falcons up 21-16.

Pfeiffer ended the half on a 5-0 run to go into the break up 37-28.

China hit a three-pointer to spark a 10-0 Pfeiffer run that saw the Falcons take a 53-38 lead with 13:17 to play.

Lees-McRae went on 8-0 run but Kendra Rutledge hit two free throws to stop the Bobcat momentum.

The Falcons turned up their defense at the end and held Lees scoreless over the last 8:21 of the game and pulled away for 66-50 win.

Ashelle Athill led Pfeiffer with 11 points and 5 assists. Kalee Smith pulled down 6 rebounds to go with 9 points. Renee Roberson scored 17 to lead the Bobcats.

Pfeiffer travels to Belmont-Abbey for a 5:30 pm game on Saturday.
