MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Cayla Veach has been named the new assistant coach of women’s lacrosse as announced earlier today by Pfeiffer University athletic director Bobby Stewart and head coach Dawn Easley.
After a brief hiatus from coaching, Veach joins the Pfeiffer staff previously serving as an assistant coach at Guilford College in 2005-2006. Two years earlier, she held the same position with her alma mater, Gannon University.
Veach, a 2004 graduate of Gannon with a degree in Elementary Education, brings a strong playing background to Pfeiffer heading into her first season with the Lady Falcons lacrosse program. In 2001, Veach helped lead her Knights teammates to the NCAA II final four in Easton, Massachusetts while earning All-American honors. In addition, she cashed in on pre-season All-American awards in 2003 and 2004.
Originally from Glastonbury, CT, Veach lettered all four years on the varsity lacrosse team at Glastonbury High School where she picked up numerous all-conference and all-state accolades. Veach was a two-sport star at Glastonbury lettering in basketball for four years. She also demonstrated her multi-talented abilities during her college time at Gannon playing on the women’s soccer team for two years.
“I am very excited about having Cayla on board” stated Easley. “She brings with her experience as a player and coach, from nationally competitive programs. Her dedication and enthusiasm will truly be an asset here at Pfeiffer.”
