MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer University men’s basketball head coach Dave Davis announced today the signing of 6’4” former Charlotte-Butler star Josh Humphrey. Humphrey played last season at Massanutten Military Academy, a prep school in Virginia, where he averaged just over 14 points per game.
Prior to prep school, Humphrey was a two-time All-Southwestern 4A All-Conference performer who averaged 16.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game his senior year. As a three year starter at Butler, Humphrey averaged double figures and scored over 1,000 points in his three year high school career.
“Josh has a knack for putting up points, is a shot maker, rebounds very well for a guard, and will be an excellent addition to the system at Pfeiffer” stated Kurt Wessler, head coach at Butler High School. “He is a hard worker and will put in the work necessary to make the adjustments and excel at this new level.”
“Josh is a player we have recruited for two years and we are extremely excited to add him to the Pfeiffer basketball family,” said Davis. “He has tremendous offensive skill for an incoming freshman and will get an opportunity to ma99ke an immediate impact. If his defensive effectiveness catches up with his offense, he will be a great player at Pfeiffer.”
