BREVARD, N.C. - Boo Tesh scored just 15 seconds into overtime leading the Pfeiffer Falcons over the Brevard Tornados in men's soccer action on Sunday afternoon. After warming up in a torrential downpour, both team played a hard fought game in the mud with the Falcons coming out on top in the end 3-2. Pfeiffer stays unbeaten on the early season at 2-0 while Brevard drops to 0-2.
Trailing 2-1 with just over six minutes left in regulation, Kash Knight struck for his third goal of the season to square the contest at two and eventually send the match in extra time. Alex Landim would then assist on Kash's game-winner in OT. Pfeiffer scored their first goal 36:42 into the game when Landim took a pass from Wilver Menacho and found the back of the net putting the Falcons up one. That 1-0 lead would stay until the 63rd minute when Ian Townson and the Tornados responded on a penalty kick. The Tornados had worked the ball into Townson in the box when Pfeiffer was called for a foul. Townson took the penalty kick and booted it out of Alex Moreno's reach to knot the game at 1-1.
Fourteen minutes later, the Tornados took the lead on freshman Chris Landvik-Larsen's second goal of the season. Jonathan deCock secured his first assist of the season on the play. Shaw stopped three of the six shots he faced while Moreno saved two of four. The Falcons next match will be their home opener on Friday afternoon against UNC-Pembroke. Game time is set for 4:00 p.m.
