MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY FINISHES 5TH AT PRE-REGIONAL MEET

WINGATE, N.C. – The Pfeiffer University men’s cross country team finished 5 out of 10 teams on Saturday afternoon in the Pre-Regional meet held at Wingate University. The Falcons finished with a team score of 125 led by senior Matt Tyndall’s 5th place time of 28:20 in the 8k race. The men’s race featured 72 entries.

Will Oliver and Daniel Barnhardt were the next Falcons to cross the finish stripe on Saturday afternoon, doing so just one second apart from each other. Oliver finished 23rd overall with a time of 31:09. Barnhardt clocked in at 31:10.

Zack Allen finished fourth on the squad with a 34th place finish at 32:07, Zach Gray clocked in at 33:14 for a 39th finish while Grady Gaston rounded out Pfeiffer’s scoring with a 37:19.

“Matt is beginning to get back to where he was two years ago, before redshirting last season” stated head coach Scott Nolt. “I am really excited about our freshmen. Barnhardt had a good race in his college debut while Allen and Oliver continue to get stronger. I am excited about having Josh and our full team for the Hagan Stone Meet in two weeks.”
