GAFFNEY, S.C.— The Limestone College women’s soccer team saw its six-game win streak come to an end with a 1-0 loss to Pfeiffer University on Tuesday afternoon at Saints Field. Limestone falls to 5-2 in Conference Carolinas play (6-8 overall) as the Falcons improve to 6-1-2 in the league (9-3-3 overall), moving their unbeaten streak to eight matches, winning their last six outright. The Pfeiffer win clinches a playoff spot in the Conference Carolinas tournament which is two weeks away.

After a scoreless first half, Pfeiffer notched the game-winning goal in the 69th minute as Alyssa Wombwell (Grand Blanc, Mich.) scored un assisted. Lady Saint Brittany Clark (York, S.C.) made five saves during the match while the Falcons’ Suzie Hinman (Idaho Falls, Idaho) posted three.

Pfeiffer held the 14-7 advantage on shots and had 6 corner kicks to Limestone’s zero. Tuesday marked the second-straight shutout for the Lady Falcons having not allowed a goal in 235 minutes of play.

Pfeiffer returns home on Thursday in a non-conference battle with Newberry at 4:00 p.m.
