DIVISION ONE STANDOUT JOINS LADY FALCON SOFTBALL STAFF

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Pfeiffer University head softball coach Amy Yates, along with athletic director Bobby Stewart, has announced the hiring of Lisa McLean as assistant coach for Lady Falcon softball. McLean joins the Pfeiffer staff after an outstanding playing career at the division one level.

McLean put together a stellar four-year career at the University of Akron graduating this past May. The speedy outfielder hit .304 for her career racking up 19 triples with 111 runs batted in. With a .342 average her junior year, McLean led the nation in triples with 10 for the season, finishing second in the nation in triples per game.

Leading the Zips as a captain her senior season, McLean put up another high average of .341 with seven triples, good for fifth in the nation and sixth in stolen bases swiping 45 bags.  Her career accolades include all-MAC and all-region selections while being a three-time Dean’s List member off the field.

“I’m very excited to have Coach McLean joining our program,” stated Yates. “She was a tremendous athlete and brings a lot of knowledge and enthusiasm to our staff; having played the outfield while putting up great numbers as a left-handed slapper, her special skill set will immediately prove beneficial to our players.”
