MUNCIE, I.N. – Pfeiffer University needed just 50 minutes to sweep Mount St. Joseph’s 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-17) in non-conference men’s volleyball action on Saturday night in Ball State’s Worthen Arena. The Falcons used 10 team blocks and solid defense to improve to 4-2 overall while the Lions fall to 1-5.
Drew Burdette again led the way with 10 kills while Evan Fullerton handed out 27 assists. Burdette also led with seven digs and four block assists. Pfeiffer rolled in all three sets hitting a season high .526 in set two. The Falcons added nine service aces in the sweep. The Lions accounted for 37 errors hitting -.036 for the match.
Next weekend, Pfeiffer heads to Mount Olive for a pair of Saturday matches including the 2011 Conference Carolinas opener. The league tilt with take place at noon against the Trojans, followed by a non-conference get-together with York.
