LAKELAND, F.L. – Pfeiffer University’s James Shepherd slammed home four more goals on Sunday night leading to a 12-4 win at Florida Southern in non-conference men’s lacrosse action on Sunday night. The Falcons continued to roll after a 7-0 halftime lead improving to 4-1 on the year while the Mocs fall to 2-4.
Kory Lutes started the evening with the first of his three in the first half at 6:08 while Shepherd converted his first with 2:34 left in the initial quarter. After Elliot Gilbert, Justin Rose and Shepherd all hit in a 1:19 span, Lutes closed out the second quarter with two goals in six seconds, including one at the buzzer, for the seven point halftime lead.
After a couple of strikes from Florida Southern to start the third, Tucker Hammock tallied a man-up goal to put the Falcons up 8-2. Rose and Shepherd would each register a pair of goals over the next 5:03 of action to finish scoring on the night.
Pfeiffer returns to action on Tuesday taking on Notre Dame de Namur in a neutral site contest beginning at 12:00 p.m.
