MEN'S SOCCER FALLS VICTIM TO TWO QUICK GOALS AT NEWBERRY

NEWBERRY, S.C. – A pair of early goals in the first 11 minutes of action propelled Newberry College to a 2-0 shutout over Pfeiffer University in men’s soccer action on Monday afternoon. The Wolves even to 2-2 on the young season while the Falcons fall to 1-4.

In the fifth minute of play at 4:36, Joao Delgado curled in his first of the year after a pass from Adrian Ochoa. Nearly six minutes later, Kyle Maitland flicked in his third of the season after a cross by Joseph Santos. Pfeiffer managed nine shots on the day, one on goal, coming from the foot of Fahret Salihovic. The Falcons led 3-2 in set pieces via corner kick, but couldn’t convert on any attempts.

Pfeiffer’s next match will take place on Friday travelling to Cleveland, Tennessee to take on Lee at 6:00 p.m.
