MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Just one week from today, Pfeiffer University’s women’s basketball team will travel to Durham for an exhibition game against the Duke Blue Devils inside the historic Cameron Indoor Stadium. Duke ended last season with a 32-4 record ranked #7 in the country going a perfect 17-0 at home. Admission will be free for the November 3rd exhibition contest with tip time set at 7:00 p.m.
“We are extremely honored to be able to play Duke in Cameron Indoor stadium. This experience is something our players and coaches will never forget,” remarked Pfeiffer head coach Jill Thomas. “Not only is Duke one of the best programs in the nation, but Cameron is one of the top facilities in the country.”
Tickets will be general admission at the door on a first come, first serve basis with Duke season ticket holders having the first option to sit in their normal seats for the game. The Blue Devils have preseason rankings heading into the 2011-2012 season at #6 (Sporting News) and #8 (Athlon Sports Listings).
The Lady Falcons are coming off a winning season posting 14 victories, 13 of those in conference play, while hosting a first-round tournament game for the first time since March of 2007. “Most players dream about an opportunity like this and our team is getting to live it,” said Thomas. “We are so excited and look forward to representing Pfeiffer at Duke!”
