CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Backed by 43 first half points, Johnson C. Smith cruised to a 79-54 victory over Pfeiffer University in day one of women's basketball action at the Queen City Classic. The Golden Bulls improve to 3-0 on the year with the win while the Lady Falcons dip to 1-3.
Johnson C. Smith put four players in double-figures let by Terran Quattleaum's 22 points. Racquel Davis added 16 while Shavonda Price and Laqwesha Gamble each chipped in with 13. In addition to Gamble's baker's dozen, she pulled down 15 rebounds to record the big double-double.
Christina Harvey led the Lady Falcons with 13 points and eight boards on the night. Shelley Reese followed closely behind with a dozen. Pfeiffer committed a season high 20 turnovers leading to 25 Golden Bull points in the loss.
A quick turnaround now awaits the Lady Falcons as they are right back on the court at 12:00 p.m. Saturday against Livingstone back in Charlotte.
