MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Pfeiffer University dropped a pair of tennis decision to Shaw University on Wednesday afternoon at the Knapp Tennis Center. The men fall to 2-5 on the year after a tough 5-4 loss while the women dip to 2-3 after a 7-2 defeat.
After sweeping all three doubles points, Shaw rallied back to win five of the six singles match to earn the win. Bret Williams picked up the lone point for the Falcons with a 6-2, 6-0 win at number six singles.
On the Lady Falcons side of the court, the hosts fell behind 3-0 after doubles while the two team points came at the bottom of the singles lineup with Kayleigh Featherstone winning 1-0 via retirement while newcomer Sarah Yates scored a straight-sets 6-0, 6-0 win in her first-ever collegiate match.
Next up for Pfeiffer's women will be hosting Catawba on Tuesday while the men will host Johnson C. Smith on Friday, February 24th.
