MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Pfeiffer University's Jill Thomas, head coach of women's basketball, has announced the hiring of Kyle Wilson as the new assistant coach for the Lady Falcons basketball program. Wilson ventures to Pfeiffer after spending the last four years at Adrian College in Michigan in the same position as well as being the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.
Last season, Wilson and the Bulldogs allowed the second fewest points in school history by opponents at 54.4 per game. The single game blocks record was tied or set on five different occasions while the team also broke school-records for blocked shots in a season, made free throws and free throw attempts in a single game and free throw attempts and steals in a single season.
Previous to Adrian, Wilson spent time at Hanover College in Indiana coaching a two-time All-American, 12 all-conference selections, two 1,000-point scorers and Hanover's all-time leader in points scored and rebounds. Hanover's recruiting classes of 2007 and 2008 left the program with more wins than any other recruiting class at that time.
"I am very honored to announce the hiring of Coach Kyle Wilson," remarked Thomas. "Kyle will have an immediate impact on our program. He has an extremely strong background in strength and conditioning, recruiting and scouting. He will play a major role in continuing to grow our program to a championship level and we are very excited."
Thomas, Wilson and the rest of the Lady Falcons are slated to begin the 2012-2013 basketball season on November 10th at Anderson in South Carolina.
