OFFENSIVE WOES CONTINUE AS WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL GETS SWEPT IN LEAGUE OPENER AT BELMONT ABBEY

BELMONT, N.C. - The early season struggles continued for the Pfeiffer University women's volleyball on Friday night as host Belmont Abbey picked up a 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-11) sweep in the 2012 Conference Carolinas opener inside the Wheeler Center. The Crusaders advance to 9-2 overall, 1-0 in league play while the Lady Falcons fall to 1-7, 0-1.

Belmont Abbey was led by Hannah Schellenberg's match-high 14 kills, .500 hitting percentage and team-high 13 digs. Kay Schellenberg dished out 37 assists as the Crusaders hit .293 as a team.

Milana Mervosh led the Lady Falcons with seven kills on the night followed by Jessica Homrich's four. Pfeiffer connected on just 18 kills in the match while racking up 19 attack errors.

Pfeiffer quickly gets back to league action on Saturday traveling to Coker for a 2:00 p.m. matchup with the Cobras. Live stats and video will be available through http://www.gofalconsports.com.
