MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Visiting Erskine College took advantage of 41 errors by host Pfeiffer University claiming a 3-0 (25-22, 26-24, 25-20) sweep in Conference Carolinas women's volleyball action on Friday night. The win pushes the Fleet to 5-7 overall, 5-2 in league play while the Lady Falcons drop their third-straight moving to 2-11, 1-4.
In set one, Erskine outscored Pfeiffer 5-2 with a 20-20 tie after both teams had gone back-and-forth in the first set. In the middle stanza, Pfeiffer rallied from down 17-13, had game point at 24-23, until the Fleet rallied back again for the 26-24 win. The third set saw the Lady Falcons blow a 5-0 start as Erskine went from down 10-5 to up 14-10 scoring nine-straight points. Another late run of five-in-a-row iced the sweep for the Fleet.
Caitlin Bullock led the Fleet with 10 kills on the night as Erskine hit .407 in the final set. Lauren Stewart and Kelly Sullivan would each followed closely with nine while Larz Chabra assisted a match-high 29 times. The bright spots for Pfeiffer saw Kelly Lancellot put down a match-high 11 kills hitting .429 on the night while Brianna Jones added six hitting an even .500.
