CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Pfeiffer University's Kellie Rhoney and Christina Harvey each posted a double-double while four starters combined for 71 points during an 81-61 rout of host Queens on Thursday night at the Grady Cole Center. The Lady Falcons win their third-straight improving to 14-3 overall marking the second-best start in school history while advancing to 9-3 in league play. The loss sends the Royals to 9-8, 7-6.
Pfeiffer took immediate control on Thursday bursting out to a 17-0 lead before Queens got on the board with 12:50 remaining in the first half. Two minutes later, a five-point stretch by Bridget Rothert gave the Lady Falcons a 27-7 lead midway through the period.
Queens would get as close as 11 in the second half until Harvey deposited a layup for a 56-36 Lady Falcons advantage. Brittany Cox and Jodie Lemons would add late three-pointers in the second half to keep the offense on cruise control.
Harvey finished the night with a team-high 19 points and whopping 14 rebounds while Rhoney added 18 with 11 of Pfeiffer's 22 assists. Cox and Lemons would each add 17 points as the Lady Falcons shot 53% in the second half leading to a 45% night. For a complete night, Pfeiffer added 11 threes from behind the arc and 11 steals on defense.
