HARTSVILLE, S.C. - Caleb Brophy put down a match-high 13 kills hitting .450 to lead Pfeiffer University to a 3-0 (25-20, 28-26, 25-22) victory over Coker College in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball action on Thursday night. The victory pushes the Falcons to 7-3 overall, 6-1 in league play. The Cobras, playing their first-ever home match in program history, falls to 0-5, 0-4.
Tied 17-17 in the first set, a Joe Supko kill along with two Coker errors gave Pfeiffer a 20-17 lead. Supko would pick up another kill over the final seven points while Brophy would add two. The Falcons would trail set two 23-21 until back-to-back kills from Fabio Diniz and Brophy led Pfeiffer back while a final kill from Diniz and bad set by Coker led to a 28-26 victory. A four-point run in an 8-8 game in set three would aid the sweep as Diniz would again lead the way. Kyle Landrigan would pick up four kills off the bench including the match-winner sending Pfeiffer to their 6-1 league record.
