FOR THE SECOND-STRAIGHT WEEK, CHRISTINA HARVEY IS PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOR WOMEN'S BASKETBALL; FIFTH-SELECTION FOR LADY FALCONS THIS SEASON

HIGH POINT, N.C. – For the second-straight week, Pfeiffer University's Christina Harvey has been selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Women’s Basketball Player of the Week during week twelve of the 2012–2013 Basketball season. Harvey (Locust Grove, VA) averaged another strong double-double leading the Lady Falcons to a perfect 3-0 week pushing the season-high win streak to seven.

Harvey, who marks the fifth Player of the Week for Pfeiffer this season, started on Monday with 23 points on a perfect 6-for-6 night shooting from the field adding an 11-of-12 mark from the free throw line. At North Greenville on Thursday, Harvey dropped a dozen shooting 57% on the Crusaders picking up a massive 17 rebounds, eight on the offensive glass. At Erskine on Saturday, Harvey scored 12 more points with 12 more rebounds shooting 44% in the Lady Falcons seventh-straight win. For the week, Harvey averaged 18 points with nearly 12 rebounds on 62% shooting. Harvey continues to rank third in NCAA II in field goal percentage entering the weekend. In the three-game week, Harvey scored 54 points, needing just 13 more to join the prestigious 1,000-point club in her career. She also pulled down 35 rebounds.

Harvey and the Lady Falcons have a huge week ahead hosting Barton on Tuesday before entertaining Limestone on Saturday afternoon.
