WOMEN'S GOLF FINISHES 9TH AT HILTON HEAD LAKES INVITATIONAL

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. - Lander University took the 2013 Hilton Head Lakes Invitational team title firing a 604 to hold off Queens by seven at 5,901-yard, par 72 layout of The Golf Club at Hilton Head Lakes. Teresa Caballer-Hernani won medalist honors with a two-day total of 140 at four-under par for the tournament. Cabeller-Hernani shot an opening round three-under 69 before a one-under 71 on Tuesday.

Danielle Haizlip and Katie Nance led the Lady Falcons with a two-day total of 165 while Stefania Valgeirsdottir finished one shot back at 166. Haizlip improved from a first round 83 to a second round 82 while Nance fired a first round 78. Valgeirsdottir improved two shots on Tuesday carding an 82 after an opening round 84. Lauren Lyle would wrap up the two-day event at 170 while Georgi Hoeksema finished at 181.

The Lady Falcons will be back in action next Monday and Tuesday participating in Wingate's Challenge hosted at Pinehurst.
