TIGERVILLE, S.C. - Pfeiffer University dropped a pair of Conference Carolinas baseball contests at North Greenville on Friday afternoon dropping a 6-3 decision in game one before suffering a 1-0 defeat in game two. Due to weekend weather, both teams moved Saturday's doubleheader to Friday and will play the series-finale at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Crusaders move to 11-17 overall, 4-7 in league play while the Falcons fall to 11-19, 6-6.
North Greenville carried a 3-0 lead into the fifth until an Aarin Sharpe single brought home Kevin Price in the top of the fifth getting the Falcons on the board. In the sixth, the Falcons would tie things up as Price, along with Kyle Hackney, picked up run-scoring singles for a 3-3 game. North Greenville would take advantage of a Pfeiffer error in the bottom of the sixth to score the final three runs in their 6-3 doubling up of the Falcons.
In game two, all North Greenville could muster was a first inning sacrifice fly, but that's all the Crusaders would eventually need. Pfeiffer's best chance at the equalizer would come in the fifth as Dalton Lindley and Price started the frame with back-to-back singles and moved up 90 feet on a Jacob Yates sacrifice bunt. After a walk to Jon Gray loaded the bases, a double play ball turned 6-4-3 would luckily get the Crusaders out of the jam. Pfeiffer would out-hit North Greenville 7-3 in game two after each squad belted out nine hits in the opener.
